The Perfect Pumpkin Thanksgiving Soup

Ingredients


3 Tablespoons of butter softened

1/4 cup of brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon of onion powder

1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger

1 30 ounce container of chicken broth

1 (15 ounce) can of pumpkin puree

2 to 3 teaspoons of salt

1/4 teaspoon of ground pepper

1 cup of heavy whipping cream


Directions


  1. Sauté butter and onion powder until melted. Add chicken broth and stir well. bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.

  2. Add pumpkin, salt, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, brown sugar, and ground pepper; stir well. bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Stir in whipping cream and heat through. Do not boil. Ladle into individual soup bowls.
