Steak and Cheese Sub Salad

Ingredients:

·       Sub Buns cut into 1” cubes (2 cups) Coated in 2 tbsp of olive oil

·       ½ pound of thinly cut steak

·       6 slices of thinly sliced provolone cheese (as much as desired)

·       1 pint of cherry tomatoes cut in half

·       1 ½ lbs. of shredded iceberg lettuce or Butter lettuce

·       2 tbsp + ½ cup of olive oil

·       ¼ cup of white wine vinegar

·       1 tsp each of Salt, pepper, and oregano

Directions:

1.     Slice open the 6-inch French sticks length wise & cut into 1” pieces.

2.     Drizzle the oil over the pieces and mix in 1 tsp of oregano.

3.     Heat oven to 400 degrees.

4.     Place bread cubes on a cookie sheet and bake for 3 minutes or until golden and remove them from the oven.

5.     In the meantime, cut the thin steaks into strips and cook the steaks seasoned with salt and pepper, in a frying pan. Remove from the heat.

6.     In a large salad bowl toss the bread cubes, cheese, tomatoes, and steak strips.

7.     Sprinkle with salt, pepper, oregano, vinegar and oil.
