Ingredients

Sauce

¼ cup Mayonnaise

1 ½ teaspoons ketchup

1 tsp of chives

2 tsp dill pickle relish

1/4 tsp sugar

1/4 tsp white vinegar

1/8 teaspoon yellow mustard

1/8 teaspoon paprika

Burgers

½ pound ground beef

2 Brioche hamburger buns

4 slices of real American cheese

½ large white onion

2 large tomato slices

2 small handfuls of tender green lettuce

Salt & pepper to taste

Directions

Spread: Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Refrigerate until required.

Burger: Make 2 patties by rolling 4-ounce portions of beef into balls and forming them into 2 circles on wax paper. Optional use of burger forms.

Sautéed Onion: finely mince the ½ white onion. Heat 1 tsp of olive oil in a small skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and reduce heat to medium-low, and cook, stirring frequently until onions are soft and lightly browned. As the onions begin to sizzle heavily and appear dry, add 1-tbsp water to the skillet and stir. Continue cooking until water evaporates and onions start sizzling again. Repeat process, add 1 tbsp of water until desired doneness. Transfer to a small bowl and set aside.

Cooking the Burger:

Cook the beef by placing the 2 patties in lined with 2 tbsp of olive oil in a saucepan. Add a pinch of salt and pepper on each one. Cook for 4 minutes, then flip each patty over. Add pinch of salt and pepper on each one. The beef should be nicely seared.

After flipping the beef add 2 slices of American cheese on top of each patty.

Burger Build:

Spread the sauce on both the bottom and tops of each bun.

Stack the tomato slice next. Add a handful of lettuce next.

When the patties are done place the patty over the lettuce.

Add the sautéed onions on the patty and add the top of the bun to complete.

ENJOY!
